Sidney and
Alice lived at 37 High Street for over 60 years running the Ironmongery business
S.L Corden, which is still in business to this day. They moved from Brentwood to Warminster sometime between 1888 and
1889 where Sidney took over the Ironmongery business from Hayden. Alice died on
the 5th March 1934 in Warminster, the same year as her daughter
Evelyn died. Sidney died on the 14th April 1938, and he is buried
with his wife Alice at St John’s Church, Warminster.

As Robert
Walter was born in Warminster in 1889, it seems that Mabel died when the family
were in the process of moving to Warminster. She may have been too ill to
travel, and she died in Brentwood. Her death certificate states that the
informant of her death was her father Sidney and he was present at her death,
but his occupation and address were listed at Ironmonger, 37 High Street,
Warminster.
